This past week we have had the pleasure of 5 individuals from Chile staying in Ottumwa.\u00a0 We had the team leader, John Bolton, the principal of a private school in Santiago, the capital of Chile.\u00a0 There are 3 teachers and an attorney on the team.\u00a0 We have schedule them from 8am to 6pm every day!\u00a0 They have been wonderful and delightfu.<\/p>\n
The goal of the Rotary program is to help countries learn about each other and promote world peace.\u00a0 We will send a team to Chile in the future and stay in their homes.\u00a0 You get a better chance to visit and learn by having them stay with local families.\u00a0 The team went to Ann’s classroom on Friday and observed her teaching her class of 5th graders.\u00a0 Lots of similarities and lots of differences in our educational systems.<\/p>\n
We have really enjoyed spending time with them.\u00a0 They will leave today and go to Pella and stay with Rotary families there before heading back to Chile on Tuesday of this week.<\/p>\n
