{"id":1353,"date":"2013-08-27T02:36:36","date_gmt":"2013-08-27T02:36:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lazio.org\/index.php\/?p=1353"},"modified":"2013-08-27T02:36:36","modified_gmt":"2013-08-27T02:36:36","slug":"memorial-service-for-dad-lutheran-homes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lazio.org\/index.php\/memorial-service-for-dad-lutheran-homes\/","title":{"rendered":"Memorial Service for Dad @ Lutheran Homes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mom attended the Memorial Service at the Lutheran Homes on Monday afternoon along with Toni &amp; Elmer, John, Nancy &amp; Theresa.<\/p>\n<p>Pastor Vicky presided over the service which was a spiritual service with scared songs, scripture readings, and then a sharing of memories by staff and family members of the residents who had died during the summer months. \u00a0The service ended with \u00a0a convocation, prayer, and bell tolling \u00a0for each deceased person. \u00a0It was a very touching service with Dad being remembered by staff for his baby blue eyes, his love of music, toe tapping, \u00a0story-telling, his love of family and faith. \u00a0Pastor Vicky said Dad often double dipped attending the Catholic &amp; Lutheran church services &amp; bible studies held there. \u00a0He often participated by saying his prayers; Our Father and the rosary. \u00a0 The staff in all areas\/departments considered Dad as one of their&#8217;s and a member of the Lutheran Home family.<\/p>\n<p>Cora ~ came by to speak with Mom, offered her condolences, and thanked mom for the gift\/plant Helen had sent as Mom&#8217;s request.
